Bio

I am a 20 year old funk-tastic old soul. I truly believe in the beauty in the world, despite all of the wicked that we see. I was born and raised in Kansas City, where I lived with my mom, my older sister and nephew, my older brother, and my little brother. My parents met in a Reggae band, which explains my optomistic attitude. My dad was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the States when his mother (Melita) was severely suffering Breast Cancer, Sickle Cell Anemia, and asthma. Unfortunately, she did not live to meet her grandchildren, but she was the reason for my name Melita. I believe my name represents a way to positively influence others. Melita was a beautiful woman, full of life and hope. "Irie" is a saying in Jamaica meaning "everything is alright." I like the two together.

I grew up dancing, singing, and performing. I always knew this was my passion and I will reach my dream to become a voice and express the importance of a revalation. Music is the number one language in the world, and I have been blessed with this talent to sing and motivate others, so I will take advantage of my power and use it for the cause to better the world.
